This challenging and unforgettable year is finally coming to a close. 2020 has caused so much stress, anxiety and uneasiness. We’ve seen so many small businesses close their doors and we’ve personally experienced being torn away from our loved ones temporarily and in some cases permanently.  Although turning over the calendar on January 1st won’t mean all of our problems and issues are behind us we can feel reassured that there is light and most importantly there is hope.

Here at Bathorium we have had a rollercoaster of a year. I had to make the hard decision to lay off the majority of my staff in March when our wholesale partners closed their doors. We took pay cuts, paused initiatives, lost deposits on tradeshows and consequently my anxiety was insurmountable. By  April though our incredible customers and brand fans rallied behind small business, self-care and the mystical healing that comes from a Bathorium bath ritual. We were soon able to bring back our staff, hired five more full-time team members and began hearing stories from our customers on how our products were bringing them so much comfort in a time where comfort ran short.

With our fortunate ability to be able to sell online, we wanted to give back to the areas of our communities that the pandemic hit hardest. We forgave overdue payments from struggling retailers, donated nearly $5,000 to the Ottawa Foodbank, purchased new appliances for Main Street Community Services respite homes, mentored small business owners to move their brick and mortar stores to online and treated hundreds of front-line health care workers to Bathorium treatments as a thank you for their service.

I’m incredibly proud of my team here at Bathorium for all that they have  accomplished. Their dedication to product quality, commitment to our customers and the obsession over the Art of Self Worship Bathing became parallel to what I set out to create seven years ago.

Thank you to all of our amazing fans who purchased product, shared our posts, mentioned us to a friend and showed their  on-going support. It really means the world to us and I cannot wait for each of you to see what Bathorium creates in 2021.

I hope you find comfort in your New Year’s Eve plans whether that’s with bubbly champagne or bubbly baths. One last time, thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
